South Delta Home Learners

Bringing families together since 1994.

Who Are We?

We are an eclectic group of home learning families located in the Southern Lower Mainland. We come together for a variety of annual events held primarily within the South Delta region. We respect all ages and beliefs and work together to facilitate an exciting learning environment for our children. We host large annual events that are open to all members (see the list below); we encourage members to take active roles to help facilitate these events and we collect a yearly membership fee to offset the events' costs. We encourage individual planning for smaller activities/events that can be organized privately or offered to the greater group on a first-come basis. These may be in a member's area of interest or expertise and can range from fieldtrips to co-op learning and workshops and can include faith-based or special interest group activities. We are not a business, corporation, legal entity or childcare service. We are simply families who choose to do events together in a fun and supportive manner. We are each individually responsible: for our own styles of learning; for maintaining respectful conduct; and for our child(ren)’s safety and supervision within the greater group and its events.

SDHL Testimonials

“We are 2nd gen SDHL homeschoolers. Love to participate in the group events, our favourite is International Dinner! The flexibility this group has to offer as well as the ongoing support is special and unique. We appreciate that this group is member driven and anyone can come up with an idea or event and something can be learned by those who wish to attend!” J & C Soukoreff
